Aloha, Chill Air and Perfume readers. It is so great to be here sharing a recipe with you all. My name is Gwen, and I write a food blog called Saturdays with Maggy from my home in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Besides teaching special education, entering recipe contests, and hanging out at the farmer's market, I have a passion for finding and incorporating locally grown and produced ingredients in my recipes.
Lucky for me, Hawaii has a wealth of fun fruits and vegetables to experiment with. I recently scored some figs from Kona Hawk Farms for this roasted fig and goat cheese bruschetta, which would be a great potluck dish or pupu (appetizer). Buy local, it matters!
1 fresh baguette
3-4 oz goat cheese
6 ripe figs, each cut into 6 slices
1 tablespoon honey
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400.
2. Slice baguette and place on a baking sheet. Lightly toast in oven for 3 minutes.
3. Spread goat cheese on each piece of bread. Top each with 3 slices of fig.
4. Roast in oven for 8-10 minutes or until figs are soft. Keep an eye on them so they don't burn.
5. Drizzle with honey and serve on a platter. Enjoy!

this looks really really good!
