Outfit Details: Fedora: Gabriel Brothers; Dress: Kenneth Cole (thrifted); Purse: Vieta (TJ Maxx); Flip-flops: Gap
I know, I know. According to all the rules of fashion, I should have belted this dress. It's a bit big & shapeless on me, and, as a result, it's not nearly as flattering as it could have been had I defined my waist. That being said, I eschewed the rules & opted instead to wear the dress as is - big, flowy, and super comfy. It was the perfect outfit to accomplish my objectives for that Friday afternoon: sitting outside for hours, getting slightly tipsy on sangria, and catching up with my dear friend Ally.
The dress is cute and comfy unbelted! Love the hat!
ReplyDeleteEither way dress still looks great on you! And the hat makes this look come together !

Cute summer outfit! You look cute in hats :)
ReplyDeleteI love big, flowy dresses- especially in this heat, so I think you did the right thing! You look so cute in hats and the sangria looks delish. Sounds like you had an awesome Friday afternoon!
ReplyDeleteIt's been so hot the last few days that I would totally have eschewed the belt as well, it's just more comfortable in the heat when things are flowy.

Sometimes that what you need...and good flowy dress AND sangria, of course.
ReplyDeleteI love that hat! Sometimes it is just too hot to belt a dress.
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute in the red dress and fedora! A oversized dress is perfect in the summer heat. Sangria is so yummy!

I have a dress in a very similar shape that I always belt. Last week I said, "Forget it" to the belt and wore it as is. I actually loved it! I think you look great!

I think this dress looks super cute on you.. sometimes comfy and flowy is the way to go (especially in 90 degree weather)!

i like the silhouette of more flowy dresses sometimes! it doesn't always have to be form fitting, especially in summer!!

Psh! Fashion Rules! this looks great! Sometimes I think you can get away with breaking them! Like wearing black and brown. I always thought people were eyeing be down for doing so, but I think in some cases its okay to wear them together.
ReplyDeleteLove that HAT!

Rules like those were meant to be broken! ;) The flowier the better this summer, for me! Love your fedora, too! :)
