Sleepy Hollow & Concord

Last weekend, B & I took a quick trip to Concord to visit Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. We both have a sort of morbid fascination with cemeteries, and Sleepy Hollow is particularly intriguing because of its "Authors' Ridge." Here, you can see the graves of Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Louisa May Alcott. B & I are both big literature buffs (we met studying English Lit in undergrad. Awe.), so the experience was a bit awe-inspiring for us.

Upon leaving the cemetery, we spent some time wandering around. Concord is such a quintessential New England town, and it has such a charm about it.

When we came upon the Colonial Inn, we couldn't resist stopping for dinner. How adorable is this place?

And their food was amazing! We split appetizers of shrimp fritters & crab cakes. They were both excellent, but the shrimp fritters are kind of my new obsession. I'm drooling over them as I write this post.

Thanks, Sami! I guess Concord only appeals to us nerdy English people, huh? :)
