My afternoon class was canceled on Friday. Holler! B and I took advantage of my afternoon off by heading to the Copley Square Farmers Market. There is so much good stuff there, including produce, cheeses, sandwiches, fresh cider, and giant cookies. Okay, you caught me, I ate a giant cookie. Right after I ate a giant falafel wrap.

I liked this outfit more before I put the vest on; however, when I got out of my morning class it was freezing, and I only had this vest in my locker. I guess I'm lucky it matched at least. It's getting cold in Boston, folks!

Making Progress

One of the reasons I started this blog was to challenge myself to be more creative with my wardrobe. I don't claim to have made any outrageous fashion choices since then, but I am becoming a little bolder. In the past, for example, these shorts would have been relegated to my summer-only clothing bin. I came across them the other day and, as I was about to put them away until next year, I decided I'd try to style them for fall instead. It was a fairly easy transition: add tights, boots, and a favorite blazer. Not earth-shattering, I admit, but it was a conscious decision to try something I wouldn't have tried before. So I think I'm making progress, even if the changes are perceptible only to me.

My dear friend Tomee sent me this scarf as a birthday gift last week. She has great taste. I think the print is lovely, but I what I like best is the color combo of navy and red-orange. Isn't it perfect for fall?

Speaking of fall, I'm loving the beautiful, cool evenings we've had recently. The weather has been perfect for walks, and B and I have really been exploring our neighborhood and the surrounding areas. There's so much to see, and I want to soak up every moment of this weather before winter comes.

You all know how much I love fall. Rarely will you hear me complain about this time of year; however, my allergies have been unbearable this season. Some days my eyes burn so badly that I can wear my contacts only very briefly, if at all, so my glasses have been getting a lot of wear recently. I know, I know, I look super nerdy (I'm not ashamed!), but I just had to take outfit photos to show you my blazer, which I recently thrifted. It's a little big, so I may eventually have it tailored, but it's definitely one of my favorite fall pieces.

Forgetful

Have you ever bought something and totally forgotten about it? That's what happened with these pants. I bought them a couple of months ago, thinking, "These are my new favorite pants, and I will wear them constantly!" Then I promptly hung them in my closet and forgot about them until a few days ago. Oops. I really do love them, though (mostly because their particular shade of light golden brown is my new obsession), and I'm hoping to have a few more opportunities to wear them before it's time to put the ankle-length pants away for the year.

Allandale Farm

On Sunday, B and I went to Allandale Farm, which, remarkably, is a mere 15 minutes from our apartment, in South Brookline. I've been dying to go ever since I stumbled across it on the internet, so Sunday I took a break from homework, put on my new favorite dress, and went for a short drive to the farm with B. It was everything I'd hoped for. Pumpkins? Check! Hot apple cider and apple cider donuts? Check! Beautiful fall foliage? Check! Cute farm animals? Check! Seriously, the farm is incredible, and I just know it's going to become one of our favorite spots. There's also a gorgeous cemetery across the street, which I can't wait to check out.





I love that the little pies are called "cuties." Hehe.



Fresh, hot apple cider. I've had the most intense craving for it, which is finally satisfied!

My new BFF. This guy loved me. He approached me and immediately started to rub his huge head all over me and, as you can clearly see here, give me kisses. He knows I'm vegetarian; hence our bond.

Pet Parade

Saturday was absolutely gorgeous. B & I spent the perfect fall morning walking through Back Bay and watching . . . wait for it . . . a canine costume parade! Isn't that the cutest thing you've ever heard of? I promise you, it was even cuter in person. Do you guys know that BU has its own castle? Seriously. Perhaps the coolest part about it is that its basement is a pub. Before you get too excited, however, you should know that apparently only BU faculty, staff, students and alums, none of which I am, are allowed in said pub. (Fortunately I read about this fact before trying to get in. That would have been embarrassing!) So my initial excitement over the castle has now turned mostly to bitterness. I'll show you, BU, by creeping around outside your castle and taking outfit photos.
